Openness of God Theology

Dr Don Carson

In recent years a small but influential group of self-confessed evangelical theologians has promoted an 'open' view of God. There are parallels and also discontinuties between this 'openness theology' and process theology, as also with earlier movements. This workshop attempts to summarize the stances of some of the dominant figures in the movement (e.g. Pinnock, Sanders, Boyd), reflect on their use of Scripture, and present the response of historic confessional evangelicalism.

Introduction: Definitions and key people

(2) Passages and categories adduced in favor of open theology
